LOGLINE

Thrown into the deep end of adulthood, Ivie Sunday finds herself leading her family through a complex and unfamiliar asylum system in Canada, facing unimaginable hurdles and embarking on strange and unexpected encounters, while discovering a newfound strength that will forever change the course of their lives, in the unforgettable summer of 2013.

SYNOPSIS

The film opens with Ivie Sunday and her family arriving in Canada with high hopes of a fun summer holiday. However, instead of visiting their aunt as their father had instructed, Ivie's mother, Abie, takes them to a shelter where they are turned away due to no availability. Desperate and out of options, they are redirected to a dingy motel where they are forced to share one cramped room with two double beds. The reality of their situation hits hard as they struggle to come to terms with the uncertainty and poverty they now face in a foreign country.
